Mental Illness Awareness Week

Sunday, October 6, 2019 - 00:15 to Saturday, October 12, 2019 - 00:00

During Mental Illness Awareness Week IBPF will be sharing facts relating to mental illness and bipolar disorder from a lived experience, caregiver, clinician, and community perspective.

How to Participate:

Learn

Say It Foward 2019 takes place at the conclusion of Mental Illness Awareness Week (October 6-12). #SayItForward on social media and share what you have learned about mental health, mental illness, and the importance of eliminating stigma in our communities.

World Mental Health Day (October 10)

Get screened on October 11: National Depression Screening Day

Did you know that bipolar disorder is commonly misdiagnosed for Major Depressive Disorder? An accurate diagnosis is critical to learning more about what you are experiencing and how to properly treat it. Take notes about what symptoms you experience and bring them with you to your psychiatrist appointment. Use this Mood Disorder Questionnaire as a starting point.

Take action during our Say It Forward campaign (October 13-19)

Now that you have learned more about mental illness and bipolar disorder, share your knowledge and personal experience during our Say It Forward anti-stigma and education campaign! Learn how you can make a difference here
